The Hives

Breadcrumb Navigation

Our bees arrived late in April 2020 after pollen season was over. This added challenges to both hives all season. They both struggled to find food which was particularly challenging as they needed to build their combs. Eventually we had to resume feeding them in hopes they could store for winter. Both hives eventually perished; one overtaken by wax moths in October and the last hive to go was completely robbed of their winter honey stash by yellow jackets in November. We are excited to start fresh again in 2022 and hope to add two more hives for a more robust start.
