Hi! We are Jen and Billy Adams. Jen is originally from Mobile Alabama and Billy is from Fort Morgan Colorado. We met in 2009 in Georgia on Match.com and were married in 2011. We have two boys, Walker (7) and Bennett (4) who keep us running!

Since we have known each other, we have shared a love of the great outdoors. Everything we enjoy is typically centered around nature and being immersed in it. We love hiking, camping, yard work and really….just being outside.

Billy has owned and operated an electrical contracting business for over 22 years. He is exceptionally handy and is definitely the entrepreneur, risk-taker and “dreamer” in our marriage.

Jen has worked as an insurance broker In two of the largest global firms for nearly 20 years. She is the quintessential risk manager in our relationship (keeping the dreamer grounded) and a hard working and planning woman.

For over a decade, we searched for our perfect “forever” home. Our demands were tall: we wanted privacy, no HOAs, several acres of land, a place for our kids, dogs, chickens (and maybe some other farm animals), hiking within walking distance, our preferred school district, small cottage places to rent onsite for future income, the house of our dreams, and…all close enough to a quaint small city to walk to a park, library, for coffee and dinner. Super easy…. right!?

2020: During an unexpected Sunday drive looking at homes, we stumbled upon what Billy immediately said was our forever home: acreage, close to town, right school district…and the original farmhouse would be a perfect rental after we built our family home that actually has some closets. All I saw was a tiny 1200 sq ft home that was 80 years old and a huge field of grass to mow on a busy highway with more ground up projects than I could ever imagine signing on for.

Fast forward 6 weeks later and we closed on the sale of our former and future homes. We began the painstaking process of moving (mostly outdoor equipment and workshop items) and our 10 beloved chickens who were moved into the existing coop on the property to free range.

Let the infrastructure work begin...
